# The tower and its position in Business Bay

Foster + Partners gave Vela Viento its horizontal lines and curved geometry, a language the practice also applied to the adjacent Vela tower, and which extends across Omniyat's broader canal-front portfolio including The Lana. The result is a building that reads as deliberately composed rather than incidental, its form recognisable at scale against the Business Bay skyline.

At eighteen per cent complete as of current reporting, the tower is under construction with an escrow account registered under number 1008096859. Business Bay itself sits immediately south of Downtown Dubai, with direct frontage onto the Dubai Water Canal and Marasi Bay. The district has evolved considerably beyond its original commercial brief; today it contains hotel towers, high-density residential and a working restaurant and leisure culture along the waterfront.

# Residences: scale, configuration and finish

Twelve residences across two, three and four-bedroom configurations. Sizes run from 3,862 sq ft at the lower end of the two-bedroom range to 10,280 sq ft for the largest four-bedroom unit. These are not compact apartments designed for yield; they occupy floor plates that would be considered generous even by London or Hong Kong prime standards.

The furnished specification and the Gilles & Boissier commission signal that Omniyat is competing for the same buyer considering a comparable address in Paris's 8th arrondissement, Mayfair or the Peak in Hong Kong.
