Nakheel is the state-backed Dubai developer responsible for the city's most ambitious land-reclamation work. The Palm Jumeirah, completed in the late 2000s, remains the company's signature project and a defining piece of Dubai's coastline. The World Islands archipelago and the now-renamed Dubai Islands (formerly Deira Islands) are the other reclamation programmes still in active development.
Nakheel's mainland portfolio is equally consequential. Jumeirah Village Circle and Jumeirah Village Triangle established the model for mid-market courtyard communities and remain among the most actively traded resale catchments in the city. The Gardens, Al Furjan, Discovery Gardens and International City round out the suburban set.
The company holds development rights over a significant share of Dubai's freehold land bank and is one of three large developers whose project pipelines materially shape the city's medium-term supply picture. Recent activity includes the reactivation of Palm Jebel Ali with a fresh set of villa releases.
