Jewellery Insurance

Dubai buys serious jewellery. We make sure it is insured the way it was bought: itemised, valued properly and covered wherever it is worn.

Jewellery is the classic underinsured asset in Dubai homes. Contents policies cap per-item payouts far below the value of a good diamond, and pieces bought in the Gold Souk or from international maisons often sit undeclared in a drawer. Insuring jewellery properly means itemising each significant piece at an agreed value supported by a valuation certificate, on terms that follow the piece out of the house.

Specialist jewellery cover is all-risks: accidental loss, damage, theft and mysterious disappearance, at home and worldwide, including wear. Policies set conditions worth understanding, such as safe or bank-vault requirements for the highest values, matching-set clauses and how newly purchased pieces attach to cover before the next renewal. Valuations need refreshing periodically because gold and diamond prices move, and an old certificate quietly erodes your payout.

We arrange standalone jewellery policies and valuables schedules within high-value home cover, coordinate valuations with accredited valuers, and structure terms for pieces that travel between the UAE and family homes abroad. When a claim happens, settlement runs on the agreed values, and we manage it end to end.

Is jewellery covered by my home insurance?

Only up to modest per-item limits unless declared. Significant pieces need itemising at agreed values with valuation certificates, or standalone jewellery cover. Undeclared pieces settle at the cap, not their worth.

Do I need a valuation certificate?

Yes for itemised cover. Insurers set agreed values from recent valuations or purchase invoices, and expect refreshes periodically as metal and stone prices move. We coordinate accredited valuations as part of placement.

Is jewellery covered while I wear it abroad?

Specialist policies cover scheduled pieces worldwide, including while worn and in transit. This is the key difference from home contents cover, which largely stops at the front door.

What is mysterious disappearance cover?

It covers loss where you cannot show exactly what happened, such as a ring missing after a beach day. All-risks jewellery policies typically include it; basic contents policies typically do not, which matters because most jewellery losses have no witness.

Are there security requirements?

Higher-value schedules often carry conditions such as a rated safe at home or bank-vault storage for pieces above set values, and alarm requirements. We make sure conditions are practical for how you actually wear and store your pieces, because an unmet condition can void a claim.
